I, for the most part, am not crafty. I am TERRIBLE at drawing and cannot cut in a straight line to save my life.
But I had to try this.
A while back, I found a really cute camera strap cover on Etsy. However, if you know me or read this blog at all, you know that I absolutely refuse to pay for something that I can do myself. My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was younger (which was probably the best gift she ever gave me), so I can do some easier sewing projects.
I was in town today for a couple of errands, so I just ran by Hobby Lobby to see if they had any cute fabric. Well lo and behold, their cute fabrics were 30% off! So I spent a grand total of $3.61 on fabric for this!
I found a template here, so I tried it this afternoon!
ISN’T IT CUTE?!?!
I’m just so happy with the way it turned out! All in all, there is at most $2 worth of material in this (since I had a lot of fabric left over – I could probably make 3 more covers with what I have left!), and about an hour of work. That’s compared to paying $20 for something like this on etsy! Good deal or what?
Now I’m off to do one of my other favorite money-saving things – making my grocery list with the weekly grocery store ads!

TOO cute!! I wish I knew how to sew!
I love this! I have been fawning over the straps on Etsy for about a year now, but haven't ever bought one…I think I may have to attempt this! Yours looks great! 🙂
That's cute, but being as I'm not creative and can barely sew a button back on…I ordered mine from Etsy. I still love it all the same, and I use it constantly. 🙂
