I’m studying for state certification exams all day, and since I didn’t think you wanted to hear about that (because I don’t even want to hear about that), I thought I’d look back at how Noah and I met!
We originally met the fall of 2003 at our sorority/fraternity swap (I was an ADPi and he was a Lambda Chi). I honestly, truthfully don’t remember meeting him…sad, I know! He says that he was in love with me from the moment he saw me. I’m not sure if I buy it, but it’s sweet of him to say no matter what 🙂
Fast forward to fall of 2005. We had both dated other people with who it just didn’t work out. We first started talking about dating at…you guessed it…our sorority/fraternity swap! I don’t know what our obsession with swaps was. I had quite probably the hardest/most stressful test of my college career that day, and was definitely not looking to meet anybody that night. He, however, had other plans.
Somehow, we got to talking at some point that night and just hit it off. It was one of those nights where we just talked until the sun came up about everything…family, friends, just our lives in general. We had ANOTHER one of those nights two nights later. I came over to see him after a friend of mine and I went to a Dave Barnes concert…sidenote, he is one of my absolute favorites! I have a picture with him from that night 🙂
Ok, off that tangent. I went over to see him, just for a few minutes after the concert, and we literally talked to 7:00 am the next morning. I have never had someone where we could just talk, for hours, about anything and everything! We can still talk that much to this day…I don’t know how we haven’t run out of things to talk about yet! We’ve been together ever since!
Our first date was actually the day of the Alabama/Auburn game that year. I remember the game being completely uneventful, and I’m pretty sure that was right smack in the middle of the time where we lost to them every year. I know it was in Auburn that year, because we were able to get out in Tuscaloosa without waiting in hours worth of traffic (if you live here, you know, DON’T EVER try to drive on gamedays!). We went to see Walk the Line…still one of my favorite movies of all time, probably because it was our first date movie. The fact that this movie was our first date is another reason I just love our boy name we have picked out…it has some sigificance to that movie, even though we didn’t pick it because of the movie (yes, we have our names picked, no, we have no plans of having children for the next couple of years) (and no, I’m not telling the name :).
Here’s a few pictures from our Christmas Cocktails (we started dating in late November/early December, so these are right when we started dating)…
What a fun little break from studying…I haven’t looked at some of these pictures in years! On other equally boring days, I’ll get into our engagement, wedding, etc. For now, I have educational philosophy, psychology, assessment, and special education calling my name!
