Now, if you’re read my blog before, you know that my absolute favorite food IN THIS WORLD is Warm Chocolate Melting Cake on Carnival Cruises. If someone came up to me and told me I had 10 minutes to live and I could pick 1 more thing to eat, it would be this.
I KNOW.
So after we got home from our first cruise, I looked up the recipe to this. Turns out Carnival releases how to make it…in batches of like 500 servings. So I found where some person (with a lot more time than me) has done all of the calculations to get it down to 4 servings! Here it is:
8 oz. semisweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or peanut butter chips
2 sticks butter
7 eggs (room temperature)
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
First, set up a double boiler. All you do is simmer water and set a bowl on top.
Make sure the water touches the bowl. Next, add the butter and chocolate/peanut butter chips. Simmer until melted…
Mix together flour, eggs, and sugar in a bowl (with an electric mixer).
(Yes, there’s still hot sauce on my mixer from my buffalo chicken dip. Don’t hate.)
(These came with my Corningware set.)
Bake at 375 degrees for 15-30 minutes. Now, I also make a really simple raspberry sauce for mine. You just mix together raspberry preserves and a teeny tiny bit of water (don’t you love my scientific measurements?).
After that, you can take pictures of your precious helper while you wait (not required, but sure is fun).
They should come out looking like this.
Add the raspberry sauce and ice cream of your choice!
My husband isn’t a big chocolate fan, which is how I found out that you can use any kind of chocolate-like chips (white, dark, or peanut butter). He likes the peanut butter one the best.

Okay. You got me. The melty cake thingy trumps the A platter in the background. Sh-h-h-h! Don't tell anyone I just said that! And by the way, I have the same platter! Gosh, I hope we beat Arkansas this weekend! Roll Tide!!
Thanks for sharing I will definately try this!
I have been wanting melting cake since last October when we got home from our cruise. Thanks!!!!
Oh, bless you. I ate this every night on our cruise. Our waiter gave us the recipe, but it was in metric units and for 500, like you said. My Canadian friend translated the amounts, but still, I never figured how to make it for fewer than an army. Bless you!!!
That looks sooo yummy! Love the pic of your little helper…. Looks like your doggy once a taste… or can't resist the smell in the kitchen…. Ha! Ha!
Looks yummy!! I also love your platter in the background. Roll Tide!!!

Yumm that looks delish and sounds easy enough for someone like me to make.
Okay, I don't know you, but I love you. I could marry you for this post. Really, I think I could. The best part of a carnival cruise? This cake! Oh my. I haven't had this in over two years and now, I can have it tonight. Did I mention I love you?
I had to click on when I saw the title melting cake…If you ever get to England you must go to Marks and Spencers and get their melty in the middle chocolate cake. You would love it. It is perfection. This looks awesome and I'll give it a try…have you ever made the cake in a mug recipe that is out there on the internet? It's a lot like the melty middle cake…similar consistency. And you can make yourself a cup of cake anytime you like-it's all done in the microwave. I have the recipe if you need it : )
This looks delightful! I will have to give it a try.
This looks scrumptious! I so miss our first cruise!!!! The desserts were always my favorites!!!Love your name too:)Check out my blog if you have time;)
That looks soooo good, especially the peanut butter!! Yummy!! And very Pioneer Woman-ish! I am so impressed!! Have a great weekend! Go Hogs!! 😉 Actually, I just hope your Tide doesn't Roll all over us!! 🙂
Oh my! Those look gorgeous!Cxx
I found the recipe too. The good news is if you are gluten-intolerant or wheat allergic it still bakes up delightfully decadent with any alternative flour. I used potato starch.
This looks great 🙂
Half baked, gooey desserts are the best foods on the planet…*drool*
