About a week ago, I ordered a few Circle E candles from eBay. I’ve written about these before – they are SO good, and make your whole house smell great!
Well I ordered 4 – three came in perfectly beautiful and wonderful
and 1 didn’t.
It was my fault – I was on my way out when I found the package on my front door step, and sat it down too hard when I put it in the house.
Well do you think I’m honestly going to throw out a perfectly good (and perfectly expensive) candle? Umm no!
So I put together either the dumbest or smartest idea I’ve ever had…I haven’t decided which one yet. I had an old Circle E jar…
(I’ll admit, I tried to put it in the microwave first, and it did that weird fireworks thing.)
I melted all of the wax…
…and poured it into my handy dandy leftover Sonic cup!
Voila…clean candle jar.
Cut the wax pieces into chunks
and cut myself in the process (Should have SEEN me trying to take this picture with an SLR camera that required manual focusing).
Put the new chunks in the old jar – you see where this is going…
Put the wicks in…
And thought I was doing pretty well! Until…the wicks decided they wanted to leave me.
Attempt 1 to keep the wicks up – creative, I know. Didn’t work AT ALL.
Attempt 2: So far, it’s working.
And I still have this huge chunk of wax – not totally sure what I’m doing with it, but I’m not throwing it away!
And that, my friends, is how exciting my Saturday afternoon has been. π
Disclaimer – I would never, under any circumstances, try this at home – you could cut yourself. Or burn yourself. Or waste a couple of hours. Not recommended at all.

So resourceful! They actually have the Circle E factory here in my hometown!
that is very clever! i don't think i would have thought to do that…i've heard you can put jar candles in the freezer and the candle comes out really easy. haven't tried it though!
Very creative! I love candles!
Very creative! π I'm impressed!
Wow! What a way to save a candle!
You are so funny!! I love it! Great idea…Christie
Oh I also have a question on my blog today that you may be able to help me with~being the computer savvy woman that you are!
I am totally SMILING right at now at how you put that candle back together again…kinda reminds me a little of Humpty Dumpty!! π I love it, plus the pictures are too cool. At least I know where to come if I ever do that!! Hopefully it's in complete working order now!
That is a great idea! Those candles do smell great. I have bought them before, too.
I could never have thought of something that smart! Glad you got to use it!
How smart! I would have not thought to do that. I was told before to take my leftover candle wax and put it in a ziplock baggy. You could break it into more pieces and put a baggy in your drawers or even in your car. Another thing could be to put it in another glass jar and get a coffee cup warmer that you plug in the wall and heat the wax.
I have to try these candles, I love candles especially ones that smell up the whole house! I would have done the same thing sister to salvage the new candle! Good job on being so resourcefull…some things are just a must!
I have had those before and they are good but have you ever had Tyler Candles….they are AMAZING!
