This guy has had a rough week. Not only has his best friend in the world (Noah) been out of town for a few days, but he had to get his vaccinations on Monday.
Sad thing is, those were the better highlights.
So first off, he was diagnosed with dog acne Monday at the vet. Umm, excuse me??? Dogs have acne?? So, $43 and one very confused owner later, Hardy has more acne medication than I believe I have ever used. And we have to SCRUB his face with a TOOTHBRUSH!! Oh, I am dreading it.
Then, Tuesday night, I noticed he was moving really slowly, not eating, and was just groggy acting. I figured it was the vaccinations (they always make him sleepy), until I tried to pet him and he screamed bloody murder. Once again, I just thought it was where he had his shots, and tried not to touch him in that area. He acted a little better last night, so I still didn’t think much of it.
Well, Noah gets home from Montgomery (for business) today, and Hardy, who almost always jumps all over him and freaks out when he gets home, wouldn’t get off the ground. Obviously, something was wrong. Noah took him back to the vet, where he was diagnosed with a (possible) slipped disk in his back. They shot him full of cortisone and gave him a doggy version of Celebrex. He’s great tonight, but I’m worried about him when this wears off.
My poor guy. He’s so good to us, and I just hate it when he’s not perfect. I’ve had to work late the past couple of days, so I haven’t really been home to take care of him (and I have felt AWFUL about i). I seriously almost took a half day yesterday just to take care of him. I just love him so much!
