Not bragging, but I must say that my husband handled his surgery today better than ANYONE I’ve ever seen!
(This paragraph is a little TMI – skip if needed!) The doctor didn’t exactly know what he was going to find when he got in there (the surgery was on his belly button that gets infected sometimes – gross, I know). Turns out, he had several “sinuses” as the doctor called it (basically lumps of hair that got infected), and a hernia that we didn’t know about…which explains the intense pain he’s been in every time it happened. So Noah basically got a new belly button today! 🙂 They had to shave his stomach for the surgery. Now, if you know Noah, he’s really, super hairy (the doctor called him a “wooly bear” today). So he’s dreading that growing back more than anything. I shouldn’t have laughed, but his stomach really does look hilarious right now. There’s this big square of hair just missing! I took a picture, but I love my husband, so I won’t put it on the internet for God and everyone else to see.
He was a little groggy after the surgery, but was never goofy acting. He was pretty much completely alert by an hour after the surgery, and even though sitting up/down is still a little rough for him, he’s acting so great! He played video games for most of the afternoon…even got up and walked around for awhile. He’s one of those people that gets claustrophobic very easily, and doesn’t like to just sit around. He’s slow-moving, but wonderful for having surgery this morning. Thanks so much for your prayers and sweet comments!
Noah’s parents were here for the surgery, but after they saw how awesome he was handling it, they left this afternoon. His mom brought this super cute sick basket…how awesome are they?? He’s probably going to be out of work for the rest of the week, so this will come in handy. I just hope he’s feeling well enough to use all of this tomorrow…pray that he wasn’t feeling so awesome today because of the anesthesia.
So I’ve played nurse all day, and loved it! He was one of the easiest patients ever. I was happy to do it. 🙂
Look what a cute blog reader (and design customer) sent me today…isn’t it precious? I can’t wait to use this during football season. Thanks Amy!
So today was my blog anniversary. I’ve been saying for awhile that I wanted to do something fun for it, but I had more important matters to tend to today. So, I’m just going to pretend that tomorrow is the blog anniversary (for this year)! Check back tomorrow…I have a fun surprise for y’all! 🙂
