I am a SUCKER for some Junie B. books. They really are funny, and kids love them! A very cute little series.
I love the artistic elements of Eric Carle books. What a great way to introduce babies/toddlers to colors, animals, and even sounds/textures.
I do love Dr. Seuss books, but what I really love is the story behind the books. We did a whole study on Dr. Seuss in college, and it was incredibly interesting. Did you know that Horton Hears a Who is about the abortion/right to life debate, Green Eggs and Ham (I think that’s the one) was written on a bet with a friend that he couldn’t write a book using only a set number of words, and that the Sneetches is a civil rights statement? Very interesting stuff…research it if you have time! It will make you appreciate the books so much more.
