Recipe – Crock Pot Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp in the Crock Pot is so ridiculously easy!  I love this recipe for a quick-prep dessert!


I saw this recipe this weekend and HAD to make it!
I found it here, but like always, I had to change it to fit me. 🙂  Here's my version!

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup margarine, cut into pieces
1 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
6 cups Granny Smith apples – peeled, cored and chopped
2 squirts lemon juice (I used pre-squeezed.)
Directions:
Mix everything oatmeal and above together. This should look like a crumb mixture.
 Mix next four ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.
Put the apples in the crock pot. Cover with lemon juice, then add the corn starch mixture.
They should look something like this.
Then, add oatmeal mixture to the top.
Cook on high for 2 hours, covered. I didn't do this, but you might want to put it in the oven just long enough to brown the top (maybe 10 minutes?)…I uncovered it and cooked for 30 minutes, but it ended up not as crispy as I'd like.
Serve with ice cream!

Crock Pot Apple Crisp

An awesome, easy Crock Pot recipe with very little prep time and huge flavor!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • pinch Salt
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 cup Oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup White Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 6 Granny Smith Apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1 Juice of Lemon
Instructions
Mix all ingredients down to the oatmeal together. This should look like a crumb mixture.

Mix next four ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.

Put the apples in the crock pot. Cover with lemon juice, then add the corn starch mixture.

Add oatmeal mixture to the top.

Cook on high for 2 hours, covered. If desired, place under broiler for 5 minutes or so to crisp the top.

Serve with ice cream!
