So Thursday night, I started having Braxton Hicks a little more frequently, and had some pain. I took a warm bath and went to bed early, and was fine Friday morning when I woke up…so I didn’t really think much about it.
I took it a little easier than normal Friday at work, but was still getting Braxton Hicks every time I stood up by the end of the day Friday. They weren’t painful, but you could definitely tell my stomach was getting tight. After taking it easy all Friday night and Saturday (I’m talking not standing up unless absolutely necessary yesterday), I was still having them this morning.
After consulting Dr. Google, I realized I’m definitely not supposed to be having contractions this often at this point, even if they are painless. So, we loaded up and headed to labor and delivery for the first time (and hopefully last before March!).
And I’m pretty sure I was in and out of there in record time! We were only there for about an hour. They hooked me up to the monitors, and in the probably 30-45 minutes I was there, I had (I think) 3 contractions when I was laying down. They did all kinds of lab work on me and everything came back fine. The doctor on call (not my doctor) just chalked it up to me probably being dehydrated…my pulse was up too, which can be a sign of that.
But the good (great) news is they contractions were doing nothing – they didn’t put me in labor or progress me a bit! So I don’t really mind if I keep having them…they’re a little annoying, but not painful.
So I’m resting and drinking a TON of water today…very thankful to be back home!
