Top 5 Most Used Baby Items – First 3 Months

I've been meaning to do this for awhile…it helped me to see what other moms actually used when I was getting ready for Emma Ramey. I hope this helps some of you too!

Here are the top 5 most used products since she was born. None of these companies paid me to do this…I just wanted to share what helped me!

1. Pack n Play

(source)

Could NOT survive without this! Emma Ramey slept in our room for about 3 weeks after she was born. This is where she slept. After she moved to her crib, we put it in the living room. This is where we change her probably 90% of the time. This is also where she takes some cat naps, and where we store diapers/wipes/etc. in the living room (so we don't have to go all the way back to her room when we need something). We have the Graco kind pictured above, but I think most any brand would work. I would recommend getting the diaper changer part and the kind that unzips underneath so you can store things!

2. Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump

I would have given up on nursing a long time ago without this. I ended up going to exclusively pumping a couple of months ago (another post for another day), so I use this guy several times a day. I was going to just register for the basic model Medela, and I had several bloggers recommend that I go on and get the nice one. So glad I did!

3. Dr. Brown's Bottles

Even if you are nursing, I would go on and get the newborn feeding set in these. You're going to need them every once in a while! If you're using bottles exclusively, this is great too.  I usually only have to do baby dishes once a day with this set. And the Dr. Brown's have worked great for us. Emma Ramey is an easy baby, so I don't have some miracle story about these bottles, but she's never had a problem with gas while using them. The one negative – they have a lot of parts to wash. It doesn't take much longer, it's just kind of a pain!

4. Activity Mat

As far as toys go, this is by far our most used. Different babies have different likes/dislikes…Emma Ramey hates the bouncy seat and the swing, but LOVES this. And like I mentioned earlier this week, she is really particular about not wanting to be held sometimes. This is usually where she goes! We got this one because it is neutral and can be used for the next baby. Plus it folds up really well!

5. Nap Nanny
(Please note: This item has been recalled since I wrote this post…therefore, I no longer recommend using it.)

I heard mixed reviews about this before Emma Ramey was born, but I am SO glad we got it! Occasionally you just have to put the baby down for a few minutes…this is the perfect place to put them. This is where she watches her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning. 🙂  And it's supposed to be really good for colicky babies too since it's angled. I do wish we had gotten it in a neutral color though – the covers are kind of expensive.

I'm going to try to do this every few months – I'm interested to see how it changes!
