A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to do (what I thought was) a really interesting post!
Yoplait has a new line of Greek yogurts. They’re asking Greek yogurt lovers out there to reassess what they think their favorite brand is. I’ve always been a big fan of Chobani, so I was definitely up to at least see if Yoplait had them beat!
So, I went out and bought Chobani Greek Blueberry Fruit on the Bottom and Yoplait Greek Blueberry…presumably should be about the same, right? I saw some pretty big differences right away!
Calories – Chobani Wins
One 5.3 ounce serving of Chobani Blueberry Greek Fruit on the Bottom has 130 calories…one serving of Yoplait Greek Blended Blueberry has 140. Not a big difference, but does give a little bit of an edge to Chobani if you’re watching what you eat.
Visual Appeal – Yoplait Wins
Open the packs up and you can immediately see a pretty big difference – Chobani had that weird, watery look, and Yoplait was already blended and pretty.
Taste – Chobani Wins
I performed the very scientific taste test method of closing my eyes and mixing the yogurts around until I couldn’t tell which was which. 🙂 I had to try it a couple of times to really get an idea, but I definitely liked the Chobani better. It had a very fruity, flavorful taste, whereas the Yoplait had more of a yogurt-y taste…less fruit. I think it’s probably personal preference, but the Chobani won in my book.
Who out there has done the taste test yet? I’d encourage you to at least try if you’re a big Greek yogurt fan…you never know, you might find your new favorite brand!
