Your Daddy and I just put you to bed for the last time as a 1 year old. I can’t believe it. It seriously seems like a few months ago that I was waddling into the hospital on your birthday. And now here we are.
It feels like everything has changed since that day. Daddy’s job changed, and Mommy’s did too. We moved to another state. And all that time, you were growing and learning and turning into a person. It has been the absolute biggest honor of my life to watch you grow into who you are today. You are just such a sweet little creature. Of course you have your moments…what toddler doesn’t? But you have such a gentle spirit about you. I feel like you’re turning into “you” a little bit more each day…and so far, I absolutely love the little lady I see.
Tonight, before you went to bed, you requested to watch “Ayael” (The Little Mermaid) in Mommy’s bed…so of course you got your way. The Little Mermaid was my absolute favorite movie as a little girl, so it’s only appropriate you are starting to love it too. I watched as you laughed, and called out the characters’ names, and reacted to the loud scenes. It’s just amazing to see you be you.
When it was time for bed, you picked your current favorite book to read – “I Love You Through and Through.” You think it’s so funny and it’s really just so cute to see you react to it. And as I read it, I meant every word. I really do love every part of you, even when it’s a not so fun part.
You’re just the best, Monkey Moo. Mommy and Daddy love you so much. Happy Birthday!
