Toys that stand the test of time.
I absolutely love when a toy develops with my child. It’s awesome when there are toys that are targeted for several different developmental periods by having interchangeable, easy-to-customize functions.
Emma Ramey and I have had the opportunity to sneak peek the Bright Starts™ new 3-in-1 Step n’ Ride Lion™ for the past couple of weeks. This, along with the Jungle Fun Ball Climber™ and the Hide n’ Spin Monkey™, were recently introduced at BlogHer ’14. The toy claims that it is targeted towards babies 6-36 months, but I initially thought it might be too “babyish” for Emma Ramey.
This toy really is versatile for so many age groups. It allows a sitting baby to “feed” the lion with colorful balls and press the light-up nose. It encourages walking babies with lights and motion in the lion’s mane. And older toddlers can ride on the lion to make it light up & sing. I think it’s especially valuable for older babies/toddlers to explore songs and colors…we’ve had lots of conversations about the colors of the balls while playing with this toy!
Turning this from a walker to a ride-on toy is super easy. It only takes a couple of turns and clicks of the toy to change it from a walker to a ride-on lion. This toy really embodies Bright Starts™’ vision of delivering convenience, value, and fun with their toys!
And speaking of fun – y’all have to check out Brights Starts™’ Baby Laugh Index™ page, where you can find out where your child falls on the Baby Laugh Index. No idea what that Baby Laugh Index is? That’s ok, I didn’t know before I visited the page either. 🙂 It’s a really cute, interactive site. And it measures your baby’s chortles. If that’s not enough to get you to visit, I don’t know what is.
