You know when you reach a point in your workout routine that you need to change things up a little bit? I feel like I’m finally there.
I love my early-morning elliptical time. I’ve tried to start making it a point, at least a few times a week, to wake up early enough to get in a good workout before Noah leaves for work. It’s a great time to clear my head and get centered for the day – not to mention get my exercise for the day in before my feet normally even hit the floor.
But, after a while, that can get a little monotonous. Even with changing up the circuit occasionally, your body just eventually gets used to the same old workout. And, after dancing competitively for 10-ish years, my poor knees just can’t handle many other workout machines.
So, this month, I’m trying to think of ways to change up the same boring routine a little! I don’t know about where y’all live, but the weather here is amazing right now. Why can’t it just be like this all year? The temperature is just perfect for a little hike, and don’t even get me started on how beautiful the fall foliage is. Just perfect! We have a few hiking trails in our area that allow for a quick & productive workout. I really want to start looking into some of the “hidden” activities around here…we’ve been in our little town a year, and we’ve found so many great things to do outdoors, but I know there’s so much more to find!
I’m also trying to combat that constant “food hangover” that seems to come with this time of the year too. The best way to do that is to surround myself with good-for-you, filling, and tasty foods, instead of the normal junk that tends to pop up around the holidays. Who out there has tried LÄRABAR? To be honest, I hadn’t until about a month ago…and now we’re totally obsessed.
I’ve always had the impression that any bar like this would…to be perfectly honest…very cardboard-like. Let me go on and dispel that rumor – these are anything but cardboard.
