Now that we’ve been in our home for a few months and we’re (mostly) settled, I thought I’d start touring through a few rooms! First up is our guest bedroom.
I’ll be honest – this was our last room to even think about decorating. It became a kind of “junk room” for a few months while we were moving. But, we recently decided to give up the lease on our storage unit that held our furniture for this room. That was just the motivation we needed to turn it into a functional and beautiful space!
One thing I’ve had to get used to with this home is the room size. We actually have more overall square footage in this home than we’ve ever had, but it’s an older home, so the bedrooms and bathrooms are smaller than we’re used to. Not necessarily bad (we get tons more space in the common areas of the house), just different. Putting our existing furniture into these spaces has been an interesting undertaking though…more on that in our other home tour posts.
I love the furniture we have in here – it actually belonged to Noah’s great-grandfather. I absolutely adore when furniture in your home can tell a story. I feel like we have a great mix of modern pieces and vintage, classic looks throughout our home.
For the more vintage furniture, I love to spice it up with bright, modern accessories and bedding.
The bedding we have in the guest bedroom is from the Eva Longoria Home™ collection, exclusive to JCPenney. I think the pieces in the Adana line just go perfectly with the lighter oak wood in this furniture. Eva was inspired by beautiful, exotic places for this line. The deep Mediterranean blue and the Moroccan-like lattice pattern in this set was just what we needed! It also so easy to style with many other collections, including the other lines that JCPenney Home offers.
I was also so happy to find that the Eva Longoria Home™ collection offered a budget-friendly option to make this room a relaxing and beautiful sanctuary for our guests. Sale prices on the 4-piece comforter sets in this line range from $129.99 to $169.99, with decorative pillows ranging from $34.99 to $39.99.
