I’m so excited to share 13 months of building and years of planning with you guys today…it’s finally time for our empty home tour!

Now, a disclaimer: as I type this, our home looks absolutely nothing like these pictures. I took these about an hour after we signed the paperwork to officially buy this beauty last Tuesday afternoon. We started moving in Wednesday morning and, slowly but surely, we’re unpacking boxes and turning this house into a home. It’s nowhere near done, but we’re making a lot of progress!
Just one short week ago, this is what our home looked like. I couldn’t be happier with the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people!
Coming directly in the front door, this is the view up the stairs. You can see the playroom at the top of the stairs and the downstairs hall in the bottom left corner.
We’ll start with (what we’re showing) of the upstairs first. I’ve already mentioned that we won’t be showing the kids’ rooms on the blog, but I can’t wait to show what we’ll be doing with this playroom. There are three total bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs as well.
Another view of the playroom, looking back from the bedrooms. I’ve always wanted to have a playroom at the top of the stairs!
Headed back down the stairs, looking to the left, you’ll walk into the dining room.
On the front of the house (in front of the dining room), you walk into our office area.
Walking back through the foyer…
…there is a hallway that connects most of the downstairs portion of the house.
At one end is our bedroom and master bathroom.
Looking from the deck door to our master bath.
To the left is our tub and sinks…
…and to the right is our walk-in shower.
Our closet is at the very end of that (it’s crazy how much we’ve already filled this up!).
Back out in the hall is a half bath.
The butler’s pantry is just past that…this is where we have our glassware and coffee maker.
Further down is our mudroom,
and past that is our laundry room.
I am so excited about all of the storage in here!
And, finally, the area that is definitely most used in our home…the living/kitchen area. We have a very open floor plan that combined the living and kitchen area and it’s working so well for our family!
I tried to be really intentional about the storage in our kitchen…I knew I was stuck with it for awhile so it better be right. 😉 I had a few “must-haves” in the kitchen that my builder made happen perfectly.
Appliance Storage Drawers
Pull-Out Utensil Storage (I hadn’t put the two other containers in yet, but there are two for those back slots as well).
And probably my favorite…
Our builder asked us about making the pantry part of the cabinets in one of our first meetings and we loved the idea!
Between the kitchen and living room is a French door that leads onto the screened porch (an area we’re loving!).
And that screened porch leads onto our deck (which connects to our bedroom).
From the other side of the deck, you can see our (very un-landscaped) backyard. It definitely needs work – we’ll probably work on that more in the spring.
So there you have it…a space that we’re hoping is a home filled with love and laughter for many years to come. This already feels so much like home – we are so incredibly happy with it. I can’t wait to show you guys some of the fun things I have planned for this space!
You can see more about building our home here…
(For those of you looking for sources, you can find most of them in the last two planning posts.)
And one more thing before you go…I told you guys about the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle back in April for the one week it was for sale and got a ton of response. It’s one of the most popular sales I promote all year for a reason…it’s absolutely packed with resources for home (everything from organization to recipes to marriage/parenthood). I have a copy myself and I’ve loved going through so many of the awesome resources that help me organize my home in the best way possible!
I got lots of emails after the sale was over asking if it was available, and unfortunately, I had to tell those people no. And I see why so many people went crazy over it…it has over 100 resources from some of the best content creators on the web. Titles like…
- Living Well & Spending Zero by Ruth Soukup of Living Well Spending Less (normally $12.99)
- Stretched Too Thin: 10 Days to Overcoming the Hustle and Thriving as a Working Mom by Jessica Turner of The Mom Creative (normally $39.00)
- The Paperless Home: How to Use Evernote to Organize Your Life by Abby Lawson of Just a Girl and Her Blog (normally $32.00)
- Sweet Life Planner: Vanilla Edition by Laura Smith of I Heart Planners (normally $35.00)
Just those titles alone would cost over $100 if bought separately. But you can get these and dozens of other titles in this bundle for under $30! You’ll get over a hundred titles that are hand-picked to enhance your home for 97% off the retail price.
But if you’re wanting this one, you have to hurry – this last chance to grab the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle is only available through midnight tonight! Click here for the full details or click here to purchase.
You are more than welcome to email me if you have any questions about this bundle!
