Place ginger snaps in a large zip-top bag and crush into small crumbs. This can also be done with a food processor. Reserve about ½ cup of crumbs.
Mix remaining cookie crumbs with melted butter and press into the bottom of a spring-form pan or pie plate.
In a large bowl, blend cream cheese, whipping cream, cookie butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring until well-combined. Pour mixture over pie crust.
Sprinkle reserved cookie crumbs on top of the pie.
Allow to chill for at least 3-4 hours (preferably overnight) before serving.
